April also continues the spring 'partnering event' season, with numerous events including BioWindhover, EuroMedTech, EuroPLX, EuroBiotechForum in quick succession, followed by arguably the biggest partnering event of them all: BIO2009 Convention Business Forum. These are the places where deals will be done this spring, so if you are seeking partners get yourself booked in now - details of each event below.

We have recently published a new report titled Option & Evaluation Agreements in Pharma and Biotech providing detailed understanding and analysis of how and why companies enter option and evaluation deals, plus access to actual option and evaluation agreements.

Finally we have updated our M&A report to reflect this latest activity, incorporating deals up to and including end 2008 - more details below.   • Reports suggest Sanofi-Aventis to acquire Medley for $700m
  • Roche acquires Innovatis AG for 15 million Euros
  • Gilead Sciences buying CV Therapeutics for $1.4 billion
  • Roche wins Genentech with raised $46.8 billion offer

  • EnVivo Pharmaceuticals and Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma enter license agreement on EVP-6124 in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and other Asian countries
  • Insmed completes sale of follow-on biologics platform to Merck $130 million
